Pneumatic AFL Air Feeder

Model AFL, (Air Feeder Line) is a versatile conveyor that can deliver both quantity and accuracy of material. Air operation makes it suitable for hazardous areas when furnished with an explosion-proof solenoid or manual hand valve. These feeders are offered in a number of sizes, shapes and capacities to suit our costumers’ needs. They are ideally suited for the controlled flow of bulk material to secondary process operations. Typical noise rating ranges from 70-75 decibels at five feet from the unit, which is well below the 85-decibel, requires noise level by OSHA.

Standard drive position is below the pneumatic vibratory feeder pan with coil spring isolation mounting. Special tray sizes and shapes with dust-tight covers, flexible inlet boots, tray linings for wear or product impact noise reduction are available.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the pneumatic drive improve feeder performance compared to electric drives?
Arrow
The pneumatic drive offers precise control, smooth operation, and adjustable feed rates without relying on electrical components. This makes it ideal for applications requiring consistent material flow while reducing energy costs and minimizing wear and tear. Plus, it’s a great option for environments where electrical components may pose a hazard, such as explosive or moisture-rich settings.
What types of materials can the AFL Air Feeder handle?
Arrow
The Model AFL is designed for a wide range of materials, including fine powders, granules, and bulk solids. Its vibration-based feeding system ensures a steady, controlled flow, making it perfect for industries such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and metalworking.
Can this air feeder be integrated into an automated system?
Arrow
Yes! The Model AFL is highly adaptable and can be easily integrated into existing bulk handling or automated processing systems. With precise air pressure control and customizable settings, it seamlessly works alongside conveyors, hoppers, and packaging lines.
What are the maintenance requirements for this pneumatic feeder?
Arrow
The Model AFL requires minimal maintenance thanks to its durable, wear-resistant design. Routine upkeep includes checking air pressure levels, inspecting the feeder tray for buildup, and ensuring vibration components remain free of debris. With no complex electrical components, downtime and repair costs are significantly reduced.
