Container Loading System

The BPS Container Loading System is purpose-built for fast, efficient loading of 20-foot and 40-foot shipping containers, specifically for the export of ferrous and nonferrous metals. Designed with durability and throughput in mind, this robust system streamlines the loading process, ensuring precise material placement and reduced handling time. The system is comprised of three integrated components: the Vibratory Hopper Feeder, the Loading Belt Conveyor, and the System Controls.

Technical Design
  • Multiple Conveyor Styles: Select from belt, chain, or screw conveyors to accommodate different material types and flow rates.
  • Variable Speed Control: Tailor loading velocity based on material density and container capacity.
  • Adjustable Angles: Fine-tune the conveyor incline to achieve the best flow and optimize container fill.
  • Optional Features: Dust-control covers, extended discharge chutes, and automated sensors can be added to suit specific operational needs.

Heavy-Duty Surge Hopper with Flow Control

At the heart of the system is a rugged surge hopper, constructed from 1/2” steel plate for long-lasting performance in demanding environments. With a holding capacity of approximately 15 cubic yards, the hopper provides ample space to accommodate high-volume loading needs. A manually adjustable control gate allows operators to fine-tune material flow, ensuring steady and controlled feeding into the system. For enhanced stability and ease of installation, the hopper and vibratory feeder are mounted on a shared support base.

    High-Speed Cantilevered Belt Conveyor

The loading process is made simple and efficient with a heavy-duty cantilevered belt conveyor, engineered to operate at adjustable speeds between 500 and 1000 feet per minute (FPM). This allows material to accumulate and stack properly inside the container. During operation, a truck backs into position with the container, allowing the conveyor to extend inside. As the operator activates the system, the vibratory feeder and conveyor begin loading material while the truck slowly pulls forward, achieving even and thorough container filling.

    Intelligent System Controls

Each BPS Container Loading System includes a comprehensive control package for maximum operational efficiency. Housed in a NEMA 12/4 UL/cUL listed enclosure, the controls feature variable frequency drives (VFDs) for both the vibratory feeder and the belt conveyor. This setup allows operators to precisely adjust the system’s speed and feed rate. Optional enhancements like load cells or a belt scale can be added for advanced weight monitoring and process control.

    Built for Industrial-Scale Operations

Ideal for scrap yards, recycling facilities, and export operations, the BPS Container Loading System is engineered to handle continuous-duty applications with minimal downtime. Whether used in the recycling, mining, concrete, food, or chemical industries, this system delivers reliable performance, reduced labor, and efficient container utilization.

    FAQ

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Which container sizes are compatible?
    Arrow
Most standard shipping containers—from 20-foot to 40-foot models—can be accommodated. The system’s conveyor length and height are typically adjustable to align with various container dimensions.
How quickly can it fill a container?
    Arrow
Loading speed depends on material type, conveyor design, and system settings. However, users often report significantly reduced fill times compared to manual or forklift-based methods.
    Is dust control available?
    Arrow
Yes. Add-on features like dust covers, enclosed conveyor sections, or integrated extraction ports help minimize dust generation during loading.
Can it handle both coarse and fine materials?
    Arrow
Absolutely. The system’s customizable conveyor type and adjustable speed make it suitable for handling a broad range of bulk materials, from fine powders to large aggregates.
